The aim of this project, funded by UNDP, was to develop the
National Strategy for Climate Change (ENAC)
. ENAC sets out Angola’s national policy vision for 2030. The strategy takes into account the need to link Angolan policy in terms of mitigation and adaptation to the impacts of climate change and also considers the challenges posed by the new Paris Agreement. ENAC presents Angola’s position on the challenges of climate change, as well as the development of two documents: the National Emissions Plan and the National Climate Change Adaptation Plan. ENAC also establishes a national monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) system, which consists of a set of legal, institutional and technical procedures aimed at collecting and reporting information accurately, reliably and transparently for the implementation of the strategy.
